TÖDLICHE RASEREI: Zahl der illegalen Autorennen in Deutschland hat sich mehr als verdoppelt

Laut einer exklusiven Recherche von WELT und WELT am Sonntag hat sich die Zahl der illegalen Autorennen innerhalb eines Jahres mehr als verdoppelt. Im letzten Jahr wurden knapp 5000 Raserfälle polizeilich registriert. Nun überlegt die Politik wie man dagegen vorgehen soll. Dirk Behrendt von den Grünen und Justizsenator in Berlin fordert ein Vermietungsverbot von hochmotorisierten Autos an junge Menschen, da die Autorennen oft nur mit gemieteten Autos gemacht werden.

This Sunday (26 September) Germany will vote for the 20th parliament of the postwar era, after which Angela Merkel will stand down as chancellor after 16 years. Opinion polls indicate the vote will be too close to call and potential coalition options wide open. We spoke to Dr. Ronald Meinardus -a Senior Research Fellow from ELIAMEP whose recent paper deals with Germany’s foreign policy vis-a-vis Turkey- about the outlook and asked what to expect from Berlin’s future policy towards Ankara.
