(Lesen Sie auch: Let’s get proud – Jennifer Lopez in „Hustlers“)
Kategorie „TV“

Yeah, it makes no sense to computerize an emergency brake. But what find even stupider is the parking brake that automatically comes off when you put it into drive. If I set the brake so I can get out of the car, is in case the car shifts into gear, which I had one do many years ago. I had to chase the car around and I nearly got run over because I didn't set the emergency brake!

It’s not an emergency brake, it’s a parking brake. It’s designed to prevent a car from rolling away when at a stop, not to stop a car already in motion.

They want to be able to exert more control over events remotely. Whether that means disengaging your now-parking brake when you're parked on a steep hill, or overriding your accelerator and disabling all of your ability to brake, thus killing you.
Let's be real here. Just say it. Everything is about control. For them, not you.

I didn't know they had done that to the emergency brake ( cuz I only have old cars) so when my sister drove me to town, I went to put the window down and !!!! I had switched the f*ing handbrake…it made a bad noise but thankfully didn't work as we were doing about 50. This is stupid, many cars have the window button on the centre console.I have experienced a brake failure in a car and your first reaction is to pull on the handbrake. If it don't work when your moving…Arrrrg..

Definitely agree with your video. The more electronics they put into cars, the more dangerous they become. Maybe in the future these things will be a great thing, but as of now it's all a trial run. (that makes you the dummy) aka not worth it.

They've just done it ( imposed it like dictators -no one asked for it) to save time and cost on the production line and dressing it up as an innovation -that only benefits the maker.

Please! It´s a Parking brake, NOT a Emergency brake! That´s why the warning light on the dash is a "P".

Only positive thing I see on the Electric parking breaks are they automatically engage when in park. So all the idiots that ruin there transmission from parking on slants with out using the parking break it helps. Other then that its a dumb idea

I love the idea of electronic brakes in super cars, but for regular vehicles, just give me a typical handbrake. The thing I hate the most about the electronic brakes is that their functions differ from car to car. The way it works in a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is way different from a 2019 Mazda 3.

ever have to put the e brake on when a car battery dies? or take it off? or put it in neutral? yep exactly. so many of us had had to do this one way or another. now think of what wouldve happened if it was all electronically controlled. even with older automatics, you could press the shift lock release if need be. with those all electric ones, good luck.

Electronic emergency brakes? How stupid can you get? Where are the bean counters when you need 'em? You would think the trend to go cheaper would extend to this area too.

On very cold days my E brake doesn't work on my Toyota Tacoma if it's on it stays on (meaning that you can't turn it off) but the hand mechanism that you pull stays slack…so you have to remember to not use them when it's really cold.

Attempt to cut down on materials. No hat on rear rotor or brake shoes, steel cable, etc. It has a little motor that just clamps the stock rear disc brake. Can see cable brakes being an after market thing.

It's funny to see all the oldies get their knickers in a knot once a physical system is replaced by electronics. People fail to realize the technology has advanced where the electronic parking brake (EPB) is statistically less prone to failure vs a traditional parking brake with cable which has much more failure modes with higher failure rates such as from corrosion, lack of adjustment, steel parking brake lines stretching and much more. An EPB is much more reliable and being able to control the amount of braking with a manual parking brake is irrelevant since the PCM/TCU modulates the electronic parking brake when applied at speed to apply it at the max rate without slippage to provide the shortest stopping distance

I really wanted a Cadillac ELR so I joined a Cadillac group on Facebook. I know Cadillacs can be a little bit delicate but after a few months of reading about stupid problems I decided that it isn't worth it. At my like to get from point a to point b without too many problems. Most of these cars are way under a hundred thousand miles. They're truly unreliable.
