Vogue is having a motherhood moment. For January 2020, the publication released four separate covers, each featuring women known for their work in fashion or entertainment — and each moms or soon-to-be moms. Stella McCartney was photographed with her four kids, Greta Gerwig was depicted cuddling her new baby and Ashley Graham was shown cradling her pregnant belly.
On Monday, the final of the four covers shot by Annie Leibovitz was revealed, featuring Cardi B wearing a Michael Kors Collection dress and holding her daughter Kulture in her lap.
In the accompanying story, Cardi B talks motherhood („if I’m playing with my daughter, I forget about the issues“) — but also dealing with negative press, her reconciliation with partner Offset after he cheated on her and how to maintain her momentum after an award-winning freshman album.

„I need a slow song, a personal song. And those are harder for me — I always need help when it comes to talking about my feelings,“ she says in the interview. „It’s hard for me to be soft, period.“

Beyoncé is a woman of many talents — and, when it comes to speaking with the press, one of few words. But for the January 2020 issue of Elle, the superstar turned her talking mode on to reveal her new Ivy Park x Adidas collaboration and to answer a host of burning questions submitted by her legion of loyal fans.
Dressed in designer pieces (including quilted Bottega Veneta mules and a checkered Gucci coat) as well as bodysuits and a sporty jumpsuit from the new athleisure collection, Beyoncé poses in a series of everyday settings — think a laundromat and the soda aisle of a grocery store — dreamed up by her „Lemonade“ collaborator Melina Matsoukas. „This juxtaposition — extraordinary girl in an ordinary world — is part of Beyoncé’s particular brand of magic, magic she believes exists in everyone,“ the cover story explains.

Beyoncé announced she would be relaunching Ivy Park in partnership with Adidas earlier this year. She finally disclosed more details of the collaboration in her Elle cover story. „This new line is fun and lends itself to creativity, the ultimate power,“ she says of the new range, which launches Jan. 18. „I focused on designing a unisex collection of footwear and apparel because I saw so many men in Ivy Park.“
Done in a cranberry color scheme, the Ivy Park x Adidas pieces captured in the fashion spread include a tracksuit, a hooded jacket and a sneaker featuring Adidas‘ three stripes.
„Versatility is a big part of the Ivy Park line and what inspires me,“ says Beyoncé. „You can create your own style by experimenting and taking chances and continually reinventing your look with all of these pieces.“
Inside the issue, Beyoncé also opens up about why she bought the brand back from Topshop in late 2018, saying she „took a chance.“
„We all have the confidence in us to take chances and bet on ourselves,“ she notes. „My mother instilled in me the idea that creativity starts with taking a leap of faith — telling your fears they are not allowed where you are headed. And I’m proud to do that with Adidas.“
The January 2020 issue of Ellewill hit newsstands on Dec. 17. To see more photos from Beyoncé’s photo shoot, styled by Karen Langley, and to read her full interview, visit Elle.com.
